Saragarhi Memorial Gurudwara is a beautiful tribute to the 21 Sikh Soldiers who laid their lives in Battle of Satagarhi during the English Rule over India. The Saragarhi Battle is documented among the most important battles ever fought in the World. This is among the three Gurudwaras built in the memory of the Saragarhi warriors.

Old Fawara (Fountain) Chowk is located in the center of Amritsar and it’s a great place to meet the locals. Amritsar is also unique in the manner of hospitality and warmth you feel when you are among locals. Just greet them with a “Sat Sri Akal” and there you go. Amritsaris wear their hearts on their sleeves and will go the extra mile to help you and guide you. They consider a guest as a messenger of God, the responsiveness and affection is definitely a soup for the soul.

Jallianwala Bagh is a historic garden and ‘memorial of national importance’ in Amritsar, India, preserved in the memory of those wounded and killed in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre that occurred on the site on the festival of Baisakhi, 13 April 1919. It houses a museum, gallery and a number of memorial structures.

Visit one of Amritsar's greatest attractions and its spiritual hub, the Sri Harmandir Sahib, commonly known as the Golden Temple. This is the holiest temple in the Sikh faith. India is home to many religions, and one of these is a centered in the northern Indian state of Punjab: Sikhism. Its adherents believe in a single God, and in the teachings of 10 holy gurus. The temples, or gurdwaras, in the city of Amritsar are both the spiritual and administrative center for 20 million Sikhs worldwide. Maharaja Ranjit Singh, founder of the Sikh Empire of India (1799-1849) had the temple's upper floors covered in 750 kilos of pure gold.

Since the time of Guru Nanak, the first guru of the Sikh people who started the tradition in 1481, the Golden Temple in Amritsar has been serving free hot meals, also known as langar, to people of all religions and faiths who come to its doors every day.

The sacred shrine of Mata Kaulan, also known as the Gurudwara Mata Kaulan, is located on the west side of the Golden Temple in Amritsar. This Gurudwara has been named after a legendary devotee of Guru Har Gobind, Bibi Kaulan.

A sense of peace, tranquility and spirituality welcomes visitors to the magical Durgiana Temple. Listen to the sounds of sacred chants, admire architecturally impressive temples, watch devotees give offerings to deities and be part of colorful festivals. Durgiana Temple is a 16th-century Hindu temple complex dedicated to the Goddess Durga. Set around a sarovar (ancient water tank), it displays similar characteristics to Amritsar’s Sikh Golden Temple.

Drive in front the Khalsa College, a 124-year-old college in the city of Amritsar, making it a historic educational institution in India. The 300-acre campus has acquired the status of the highest Sikh institute for education with an enriching environment and a progressive outlook towards society. The architectural wonder is built on the same location that Guru Hargobind won his very first battle. Architecturally identical in nature, the Khalsa College in Amritsar and Lahore were constructed in the Indo-Saracenic style with influences of the traditional Indian and Mughal architecture.

The Gobindgarh Fort is a historical museum and cultural theme park showcasing the history of Punjab and Punjabi culture in all its glory. There are various museums featuring collections of traditional Punjabi attire, household items and even weapons of war from the olden days. The light and laser shows such as Sher E Punjab and Whispering Walls showcasing the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and the story of Gobindgarh respectively are quite popular among tourists.
